Free Online Help to Reinstate Your Driver’s License
LIFT Wisconsin’s Legal Tune Up helps address civil legal problems for free from a smartphone or computer. The Legal Tune Up tool makes it easy for you to resolve your specific driver’s license issue and get back on the road by:
✅ Viewing your suspensions and find out whether you have any unpaid fines
✅ Providing tips to help with all types of driver’s license problems
✅ Pay or take care of unpaid fines
✅ Reinstate your license with the DMV
Legal issues can prevent people from restoring or obtaining a driver’s license, which impedes their ability to get to work or find a job, take their kids to daycare, or obtain medical care.
How We Help
In Racine and Jefferson counties, we offer in-person monthly clinics so you can get assistance from an attorney and help you understand and resolve active suspensions and/or revocations against your Wisconsin driver’s license. Participants will speak with volunteer attorneys to help with driver’s license related issues like reopening previous legal forfeitures or unpaid fines and fees, understanding and addressing OWI related barriers, and facilitating access to occupational driver’s licenses.
Every time a suspended license is reinstated, the license holder must pay a $60.00 reinstatement fee. This can be a barrier to many who otherwise have the ability to drive again.
